Job Description

K & M Communications, a leading commercial security and access control is in search of a full-time skilled ambitious Licensed Installation and Service Technicians to join our dynamic team in Houston.

The technician will perform installations and service of electronic control systems which may include door access control, CCTV, low voltage communication and networking including cable management, electronic locks, Wi-Fi locks, network switches and associated hardware. As an access control technician, this person is expected to be self-motivated, self-managed and have the ability to lead a team.

Functions

• Provide Access Control Installation, Service and Maintenance
• Install and terminate cable
• Work with various tools and power tools
• Know and understand cable management, door controllers and magnetic locks on an expert level
• Know and understand how to install key pads, badge readers and crash bars on an expert level
• Install and repair electrical equipment and fixtures
• Install various types of raceway and cable tray systems
• Troubleshoot motor and control systems
• Perform routine maintenance on electrical wiring and systems
• Adhere to all quality and safety codes

​​ Qualifications: ​​​​​​

• Minimum High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in Access Control, Intrusion Systems, CCTV, and, or network systems.
• Licensed by the Texas Department of Public Safety Private Security Division (or eligibility to obtain). for security techs.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Reliable transportation
• Physical capability for security technician duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs, working at heights, and in adverse weather conditions.
• Excellent written communication and computer skills.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and excellent problem solving skills
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers
• Must be able to read and interpret Construction prints
• Must be mechanically inclined and have Electrical experience
