The Harris County Tax Office is currently hiring a Bilingual Customer Service – Cashier to join its fast-paced and service-driven team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys helping others, has strong attention to detail, and thrives in a structured environment.

In this role, you'll be responsible for assisting customers with vehicle registrations, permits, and other essential services, while ensuring accurate transaction processing and proper documentation. We're looking for someone who can communicate effectively with a diverse community and who takes pride in providing excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Must be bilingual in English and Spanish to effectively assist a diverse customer base.
• 6+ months of recent cash handling and data entry experience (within the past 2 years).
• Ability to type at least 30 words per minute and strong basic math skills.
• High School Diploma, GED, or college degree from an accredited institution (Required).
• Excellent communication, strong attention to detail, and a team-focused mindset.

Position Details

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:45 AM – 4:45 PM (Weekend availability may be required).
• Pay: $15/hour – Paid weekly.
• Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire – with the potential for full-time placement.
• Benefits: Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance available.
• Location: Various branch locations throughout Harris County (travel may be required for training or support).

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver professional and courteous service to customers.
• Assist with vehicle registrations, permits, automobile titles, and replacement plates.
• Accurately process cash transactions and balance cash drawers daily.
• Complete required documentation and support daily reporting tasks.

Important Information: Candidates will be required to undergo background checks, including Criminal City, State, and National checks, Drug Screening, and verification of Education and Employment, in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
