Position Overview

The Claim Technician plays a key role in supporting the claims process by performing critical administrative and operational tasks. This position ensures claims are documented, entered, and prepared accurately to assist claim handlers in efficient case resolution. The Claim Technician works closely with team members and leadership, contributing to a professional, collaborative, and high-performing claims environment. The role may also be assigned special projects as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all assigned claims support tasks accurately and in a timely manner, including claim input, documentation, and preparation of responses for claim handler review.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of departmental service standards, procedures, and workflows.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team while also demonstrating the ability to work independently.
  • Provide consistent, high-quality support to claim handlers to ensure efficient claims processing.
  • Adapt to evolving priorities and shifting departmental needs.

Requirements

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat, or the ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Ability to learn and navigate additional software required for the role.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Comfortable managing high-volume workloads and shifting priorities.
  • Basic phone communication skills, including the ability to interact courteously and clearly with claimants.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
