Job Title: Tape Librarian

Location: 10001 Richmond Ave, Houston, TX 77042

Duration: 3+ months

Pay Rate: $25.00/hr on W2

Description

The Tape Librarian is responsible for maintaining, organizing, and tracking magnetic computer tapes and digital media within the Houston Tape Library. This role ensures accurate verification, registration, and management of all client deliverables and internal media assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all tape pools - creation, labeling, expansion, and reduction.
• Verify and register incoming/outgoing media and maintain accurate records.
• Handle client deliverable verification and database catalog updates.
• Generate media reports and resolve catalog or archive issues.
• Maintain tape library organization, storage, and proper handling of media.
• Assist with daily operations, load/eject media from silos, and prepare shipments.
• Follow all QHSE and departmental quality standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
• 3 5 years of experience as a tape technician or in computer operations.
• Strong database and computer skills; knowledge of MMS tape management preferred.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize multiple tasks independently.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
