Marketing Technician

We’re seeking a driven Marketing Technician to join our consumer marketing team. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in expanding our education brand and helping more families discover after-school tutoring for their children.
Position Overview
- Type: Contract role, 40 hours per week to start (with potential to grow into a full-time position)
- Compensation: $22–$28 per hour
- Location: Houston, TX
- Starts remote, but you will eventually be required to work in-office in Houston
Key Responsibilities
You’ll be focused almost entirely on customer acquisition—bringing new families into our centers.
Campaigns & Execution
- Execute marketing strategies to attract parents seeking after-school tutoring for their school-aged children.
- Manage and optimize multi-channel marketing campaigns, including:
- Paid and organic social media (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, possibly LinkedIn)
- Email marketing and nurture sequences
- Local search/SEO and Google Business Profile
- Digital ads (Google Ads, Meta Ads)
- Assist in organizing and attending local acquisition events (school/community events, fairs, etc.) and running campaigns to drive attendance.
Content & Creative
- Create compelling content for:
- Landing pages, emails, ads, social media posts, and printed collateral
- After-school tutoring, test prep, and other education-focused offers
- Use tools such as Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite to design basic visual assets for campaigns.
- Apply copywriting best practices to drive clicks, calls, and inquiries.
Marketing Operations & Automation
- Set up, maintain, and optimize our CRM so that all leads are:
- Captured reliably
- Tagged and segmented
- Tracked through the funnel
- Followed up with using clear workflows and automations
- Implement and manage marketing automation tools to streamline campaign workflows and lead nurturing.
- Support the sales/enrollment team with marketing collateral and sequences that help move leads from inquiry → academic evaluation → enrollment.
Analytics & Research
- Monitor and report on marketing performance using tools like:
- Google Analytics
- Ad platform dashboards (Google Ads, Facebook/Instagram)
- CRM reports and pipeline metrics
- Analyze data to identify what’s working, what isn’t, and recommend concrete optimization steps.
- Conduct simple research on industry trends, competitor activity, and local market dynamics to inform campaigns.
Collaboration
- Work directly with the CMO to reach growth targets for each center.
- Coordinate with center directors and the enrollment/sales team to ensure marketing and front-line operations are aligned.
What Sets This Role Apart
This position focuses exclusively on customer acquisition. You won’t be managing “brand awareness” in the abstract—you’ll be:
- Driving real inquiries from families
- Helping fill our centers with engaged students
- Seeing your work show up in daily/weekly inquiry and enrollment numbers
You’ll be doing this within an emerging roll-up brand in the education space, with the opportunity to help shape our playbook as we acquire and grow multiple locations.
Ideal Candidate
Skills & Experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven experience or strong familiarity with:
- Digital marketing (social, email, search)
- Basic SEO principles and local SEO
- Managing social media accounts for a brand
- Setting up and monitoring campaigns in tools like Google Ads and Facebook Ads Manager.
- Comfortable with:
- Basic design tools (Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite)
- CMS tools like WordPress or landing page builders
- Marketing automation platforms and email tools.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret dashboards and turn metrics into actions.
- Experience in franchise or multi-location businesses is a plus, but not required.
- Passion for education, families, and entrepreneurship is a plus.

Requirements
- Ability to attend 1–3 in-person events per quarter in the Houston, TX area.
- Comfortable interacting with potential customers (parents and students) at events, on the phone, or via email/social.
- Dedication to providing world-class service to families exploring tutoring and test prep options.
- Ability and willingness to work in the office in Houston if/when the position converts to full-time.
