Job Title: Tooling Operator (1st Shift)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Tooling Operator to join our team in a manufacturing environment. You will operate various machines to press and form thicker metal that will eventually be used to make frames for airplanes. This role requires flexibility as you will be expected to float around the shop and assist wherever needed.

Responsibilities

  • Operate different machines including the band saw, press machine, bump machine, and stretch machine to form metal.
  • Measure parts accurately using a tape measure.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist in other areas of the shop as needed.
  • Train to adapt to various roles within the shop.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in machine operating within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the metal manufacturing or forging industry.
  • Proficiency in reading a tape measure.
  • Experience with CNC Machine Operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Jib Crane or Overhead Crane operation.
  • Furnace operator experience.
  • Extensive measuring experience.
  • Strong mathematical skills.

Work Environment

You will work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment, which can be hot during the summer months. Despite the age of the exterior, the shop is clean, extremely organized, and well-labeled. The dress code includes steel-toed shoes, jeans, and a work shirt, along with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). The regular day shift hours are from 5:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, with extended hours as needed. Fridays run from 5:00 am to 1:30 pm, with overtime as needed. Training will initially be on the day shift for approximately two weeks before transitioning to your designated shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of HOUSTON, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
