Our client, a dynamic technology company headquartered in Houston, Texas , is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Public Relations Manager to lead their media relations and communications efforts. This role requires an on-site presence to foster strong relationships with internal teams and manage public perception effectively within a fast-paced industry.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute comprehensive public relations strategies to enhance brand visibility and reputation. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and industry influencers. Write and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other PR materials. Manage media inquiries and coordinate interviews for company spokespersons. Develop talking points and prepare spokespersons for media engagements. Monitor media coverage and analyze PR campaign effectiveness, reporting on key metrics. Manage crisis communications and develop proactive strategies to mitigate reputational risks. Collaborate with marketing and executive teams to ensure consistent messaging across all communications. Organize and manage press conferences, media events, and product launches. Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and relevant news.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in public relations, preferably within the technology sector. Proven track record of successful media relations and campaign management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for crafting compelling narratives. Strong understanding of media landscape and journalistic practices. Experience with media monitoring and analysis tools. Ability to think strategically and develop creative PR solutions. Exceptional organizational and project management skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Must be able to work full-time from our Houston office. Experience with crisis communications is highly desirable.
