Overview

As a Natural Gas Originator at TC Energy Marketing Inc. in Houston, you will lead the identification, evaluation and execution of structured natural gas transactions across the Midwest, Northeast, or Texas & Gulf Coast. You will build a robust origination pipeline and collaborate closely with Trading, Contracts, Legal, Risk and Credit to convert opportunities into value-adding deals. You'll help expand our regional footprint and support portfolio optimization. This role offers strong growth for entrepreneurial professionals who shape regional strategy and market insights to support sustainability and reliability.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, evaluate, and execute structured natural gas transactions (term supply, sales, transportation, storage, and asset-backed deals)
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of origination opportunities aligned with commercial strategy
  • Expand the company's physical and commercial presence across Midwest, Northeast, and Texas & Gulf Coast regions
  • Collaborate with Trading to define and execute regional commercial strategy; support portfolio optimization
  • Structure and negotiate asset management agreements to maximize value for customers and trading portfolio
  • Develop market views from customer interactions, regional fundamentals, and infrastructure dynamics; provide actionable insights to stakeholders
Key requirements
  • Bachelor (Business, Finance, Engineering, Marketing, or related field)
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in natural gas origination, marketing, or trading in Midwest/Northeast/Texas & Gulf Coast regions
  • Strong understanding of regional supply/demand fundamentals, pipeline flows, and market dynamics
  • Built customer relationships with utilities, power generators, pipelines and storage facilities
  • Commercial acumen with experience structuring transactions across upstream, midstream, downstream
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management; ability to lead complex transactions cross-functionally
