Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled PMS Specialist / Imaging Lead to join our IT department, responsible for the technical management, optimization, and support of our practice management and imaging systems. This role focuses on ensuring system reliability, integrations, and data integrity while supporting clinical and administrative teams with technical solutions. The ideal candidate combines deep IT expertise with a strong understanding of healthcare software workflows and imaging systems. This individual serves as both a technical and operational leader, overseeing PMS upgrades, PMS performance, leading system-related projects, and guiding team members to ensure consistent workflows, data integrity, and operational excellence across all supported practices.   

Key Responsibilities: 

PMS Strategy, Support & Optimization 

  • Serve as the enterprise subject matter expert for all supported PMS platforms.  
  • Partner with Operations, IT, Revenue Cycle, and Clinical leadership to align PMS capabilities with organizational goals.  
  • Oversee system configuration, templates, user permissions, and security standards.  
  • Troubleshoot complex system issues and escalate to PMS vendors as well as work hand in hand with other internal IT team members as needed.  
  • Manage schedules for PMS/Imaging upgrades and migrations.

 

Leadership & Project Management  

  • Lead PMS-related projects including PMS system upgrades, integrations, conversions, and new practice onboarding.  
  • Manage timelines, resources, and deliverables for cross-functional initiatives.  
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and oversight in regard to the PMS for all analysts, trainers, or support team members.  
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all all PMS initiatives during acquisitions and de novos.  
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, SOPs, and standardized workflows. 

Training, Change Management & Adoption  

  • Cross train all support members on new features, and enhancements for PMS upgrades and migrations. 
  • Help to standardize and narrow down the current the list of PMS systems.  
  • Mentor support team members and serve as an escalation resource for complex training or system issues within the PMS.  
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and continuously improve educational materials.  

Integrations & Technology Enablement  

  • Oversee PMS integrations with imaging systems, patient communication platforms, and third-party vendors.  
  • Collaborate with IT on cybersecurity, system access, and infrastructure requirements.  
  • Test and validate new features, upgrades, and enhancements prior to deployment. 

 

Requirements: 

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with dental practice management software in a DSO or multi-location dental environment. 
  • Advanced proficiency in one or more major dental PMS platforms (Denticon, Dentrix, DSN Cloud, Eaglesoft, EndoVision, Medims, OMSVision, PBS Endo, TDO, WinDent, WinOMS 10). 
  • Advanced proficiency with one or more major dental imaging software: Apteryx, Carestream, CS OMS, Cliniview, Dexis,DTX Studio, EZDent, ICAT, I-Dixel, Romexis, Schick, Sidexis, SmartScan, TDO, Vixwin 
  • Strong understanding of dental operations, front office workflows, billing, insurance, and revenue cycle. 
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects and influencing cross-functional teams. 
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

$80,000$90,000 USD
Specialty1 Partners is the direct employer of non-clinical employees only. For clinical employees, the applicable practice entity listed above in the job posting is the employer. Specialty1 Partners generates job postings and offer letters to assist with human resources and payroll support provided to the applicable practice. Clinical employees include dental assistants and staff assisting with actual direct treatment of patients.
