Sales Associate - Retail Medical Equipment and Supplies
Spacemanager Inc
About Us
We’re a local home medical equipment (HME) retailer serving the Houston community with products that help people live safely and comfortably at home. We specialize in selling and renting mobility and homecare equipment, and we’re building a team that delivers a high-trust, high-service customer experience every day.
What You’ll Do
As an In-Store Sales Associate, you’ll be the first point of contact for customers and caregivers—helping them choose the right equipment, understand options, and complete purchases/rentals smoothly and securely.
Key responsibilities include
- Welcome customers and assess needs with empathy and professionalism
- Recommend and explain products (mobility, respiratory, hospital beds, lift chairs, scooters, CPAP accessories, etc.)
- Process in-store transactions and rentals accurately (with strong attention to payment collection and fraud prevention)
- Handle phone inquiries and convert calls into store visits and sales
- Maintain clean merchandising, organized displays, and a well-stocked showroom
- Inventory management and restocking
- Coordinate with the back-of-house/warehouse team for product availability, loading, and delivery scheduling
- Document orders clearly and follow through until the customer is taken care of
- Support returns/exchanges and resolve issues in a calm, solutions-focused way
- Help uphold store standards for service, compliance, and secure payment practices
What We’re Looking For
- 1–3+ years in retail sales, customer service, or inside sales (healthcare retail a plus)
- Strong communication skills—clear, patient, and confident
- Comfort discussing sensitive situations with older adults, caregivers, and families
- Detail-oriented with a high standard for accuracy (especially with transactions and paperwork)
- Tech-comfortable (POS systems, basic order entry, phone/email communication)
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Ability to lift/move lighter equipment in the showroom (heavier items handled with assistance/team support)
Why This Role Is a Great Fit
- Stable retail environment with meaningful work and repeat customers
- A product category where trust and service matter—your effort directly helps people
- Opportunity to grow into lead sales, operations support, or store leadership over time
