In this role you drive on-site technical support and coordination for life sciences project delivery, ensuring drawings, specifications, and change processes are aligned with field realities. You'll lead field document control, liaise with home office and clients, and mentor team members to uphold quality plans. This is a hands-on leadership position that sits at the intersection of design, field execution, and regulatory permitting. You'll work with cross-functional teams to keep projects on track and impact critical facilities. Responsibilities
- Resolve in-progress technical interpretation issues and expedite responses to meet project needs
- Liaise with home office engineering, outside firms, and client representatives
- Provide on-site technical support for interpretation of released documents, specs, and drawings; input to change management
- Engage in permitting processes with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)
- Collaborate with Design-Build contractors as field work progresses
- Ensure revision control for construction documents and provide latest revisions to contractors
- Manage field design revisions and communicate potential changes; coordinate with Project Controls and Construction teams
- Act as technically competent lead for specification deviations and NCR resolutions
- Mentor subordinate team members toward objective achievement
- Contribute to project quality plans and field-level excellence
Key requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 10 years in engineering and construction of heavy-industrial process facilities
- Understanding of construction means, methods, codes, and standards
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience interpreting home office engineering documents for construction
