Job Summary

The Director of Production and Audio Ministry is a senior creative leader responsible for shaping Hope Media Group’s ministry, underwriting, and donor storytelling come to life through sound. This role ensures that ministry audio is communicated with excellence, integrity, and emotional clarity across all brands and platforms. Working in close partnership with the Director of Imaging and Brand Sound, Program Directors, and cross‑functional teams, this role champions production excellence and ministry storytelling while sharing responsibility for the overall creative audio vision. Together, these two director roles are designed to elevate the sound and storytelling of Hope Media Group—establishing a new standard for creativity, innovation, and impact within faith‑based media.

Essential Functions

Production Leadership & Audio Ministry

Champion Engagement 365 audio storytelling, crafting ministry and donor messaging that connects generosity to real‑life impact through authentic, compelling story

Lead underwriting production and ministry audio needs across all brands, serving listeners, donors, and business partners with excellence

Interface primarily with underwriting partners and internal stakeholders to ensure clarity, alignment, and strong execution

Collaborate with Programming, Marketing, and Donor Relations to translate ministry initiatives into audio that connects emotionally and compels action

Help establish year‑round messaging that naturally weaves listener support and life change into daily content

Shared Creative Leadership & Audio Excellence

Share responsibility for the sonic identity of all Hope Media Group brands, contributing to imaging, promos, ministry features, and donor messaging

Ensure underwriting and ministry audio meets FCC non‑commercial underwriting guidelines while maintaining creative excellence

Maintain high standards of sound design, copywriting, and production flow to ensure clarity, consistency, and connection

Participate in decisions around production systems, scheduling, delivery flow, and creative standards

Innovate audio across on‑air, streaming, podcasting, video audio design, and social platforms

Podcasting, Digital Audio & Programming Support

Support the Programming department through audio editing, production, and creative consultation for podcasts, digital‑first content, and on‑demand audio

Edit and enhance podcast content, ensuring strong sound quality, pacing, and listener engagement

Collaborate with Programming and Digital teams to adapt on‑air content for digital platforms, including podcasts, short‑form audio, and emerging formats

Help develop audio standards and best practices for digital content that reflect brand sound, ministry purpose, and audience expectations

Provide creative and technical support for new programming initiatives beyond traditional broadcast

Team Development & Operations

Provide leadership, mentoring, and creative guidance to producers, creatives, and partners as the department evolves

Collaborate on the use of contractors and external partners to scale output while maintaining quality and agility

Contribute to systems that balance creative freedom with efficiency and clarity

Cultivate a culture that values excellence, collaboration, innovation, and ministry impact

Demonstrated Faith

Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and live by the Ministry Statement of Faith

Be spiritually grounded, biblically literate, and comfortable participating in prayer and ministry activities

Participate in on‑air fundraisers and pray for donors as needed

Be an active member of a Bible‑believing local church

Requirements

Education

Bachelors in audio engineering, broadcast engineering, media, or equivalent work experience is preferred.

Experience

5+ years leading a fast‑moving production or creative audio team – preferably in radio, agency or multiplatform media.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Expert in digital audio workstations (Adobe Audition or Pro Tools preferred).

Strong understanding of FCC rules for non‑commercial underwriting.

Strategic thinker who can assess team structure, identify gaps, and build for scale.

Exceptional writing and storytelling ability; can translate emotion into sound.

Collaborative leader comfortable navigating both creative and operational priorities.

Heart for Christian ministry

Strong moral character

Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Spiritually grounded and working knowledge of scripture

Must be an active member of a Bible believing local church
