Senior Supply Planner

Overview

In this role you will develop and execute global supply plans for Fluence's Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) supply chain, ensuring material availability and production readiness. You will bridge demand planning, procurement, manufacturing, and suppliers to balance demand, capacity, and inventory while mitigating risks. Using SAP/ERP and advanced planning tools, you will support scalable, world-class planning processes and contribute to a resilient, energy-storage-focused grid. This is a cross-functional, impact-driven role at a market leader shaping the sustainable energy transition.

Responsibilities

• Develop short-, mid-, and long-term supply plans to meet demand and manufacturing needs
• Balance availability, capacity, inventory targets, and supplier constraints to meet objectives
• Translate demand plans into actionable supply and replenishment strategies
• Drive end-to-end material readiness for manufacturing and delivery commitments
• Identify supply risks and implement mitigation plans
• Assess supplier capacity and capability to support current and future demand
• Collaborate with Procurement and Suppliers on capacity for batteries, PCS, TMS, enclosures, and long-lead components
• Develop supply scenarios and contingency plans; support allocation during shortages
• Monitor supplier performance and address risks to continuity
• Establish and maintain inventory strategies aligned with service levels and working capital goals
• Optimize safety stock, reorder points, lead times, and planning parameters
• Monitor excess/obsolete inventory and implement corrective actions
• Drive inventory health through planning processes and continuous review
• Coordinate cross-functional planning with Demand Planning, Order Fulfillment, Master Scheduling, and Procurement Operations
• Support executive S&OP and S&OE with supply analysis and recommendations
• Maintain planning data integrity in SAP and related systems; ensure data accuracy
• Drive process governance, automation, and data quality improvements
• Oversee planning activities across BESS commodities and assemblies (cells/modules/packs, PCS, TMS, enclosures, BOS)
• Support new product introductions, supplier transitions, capacity expansions, and localization
• Coordinate planning across global manufacturing sites and contract manufacturers

Key requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 8-10 years in Supply Planning or equivalent roles
• 3+ years supporting Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) or related industries
• Experience managing complex global supply chains with OEMs and strategic suppliers
• Strong understanding of MRP, inventory planning, replenishment, capacity planning, and supply assurance
• Experience with SAP/SAP S/4HANA or similar ERP/MRP systems
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Fluent in Mandarin and proficient in English
