Photography Instructor (In-Person | Freelance)

Elite Camera Academy offers hands-on, in-person photography training designed especially for beginners and hobbyists. The academy helps students unlock their potential by teaching them how to use their cameras effectively, sharpen their composition skills, and build confidence through practical, real-world instruction. Through personalized and approachable sessions, students learn the fundamentals of everyday photography, including family, travel, lifestyle, portrait, and real estate photography. Elite Camera Academy strives to make learning photography simple, enjoyable, and impactful.

The Role

We’re looking for engaging photographers who enjoy teaching and helping others learn. This is a freelance (super part-time, you receive lessons as they come in), in-person instructor role where you’ll teach 1-on-1 photography sessions using a flexible curriculum that you can adapt to each student.

Think: hands-on shooting, real conversations, lots of “aha” moments — not classrooms or homework.

What You'll Do

• Lead in-person photography lessons (1–3 hours per session)
• Teach camera basics: exposure, focus, composition
• Give real-time feedback while students are shooting
• Keep sessions engaging, relaxed, and beginner-friendly
• Adapt lessons to each student’s goals (family, travel, portraits, real estate, etc.)

What We're Looking For

• Solid photography skills and comfort shooting in manual mode
• Experience in real-world photography (portrait, lifestyle, real estate, etc.)
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, patient teaching style
• Someone who enjoys working with beginners and making learning fun
• Teaching or mentoring experience is a plus — but not required

• Location: In-person (Houston, Austin, Dallas; expanding)
• Schedule: Set your own availability
• Compensation: $40–$60/hour
• Our instructors generally receive 0-4 bookings per month (dependent on demand)
