As a Statistician – Quality Control, you will interpret data from various sources and provide statistical analyses while working closely with the project team. An ideal Statistician is organized, detail-oriented, exhibits strong technical expertise, and encompasses communication skills needed to interact with clients as well as various organizational departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and draw statistical conclusions from client data using Excel and/or R.

  • Utilize RStudio to run stratified statistical samples and generate reports summarizing said samples.

  • Communicate efficiently with project team and client regarding the best methodologies to go forth with client studies.

  • Demonstrate ability to speak with clients about their statistical analysis and answer any related questions.

  • Maintain knowledge of the relevant tax code and filing/SOL deadlines for R&D

  • Proactively identify and drive solutions on any project issues through collaboration with clients, various departments, and executive management

  • Demonstrate ability to innovate and improve firm processes.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree required in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or similar field

  • Preferred 1-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area

  • Experience in compiling reports, charts and tables based on established statistical methods

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to present findings and methodologies effectively to client

  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines while reaching goals

  • Collaborative, self-motivated, competitive, and highly professional

  • High sense of urgency with the ability to meet deadlines and changing priorities

  • Receptiveness to performance feedback within a team environment is essential

  • Experience in a professional services environment, highly complex consulting environment, or executive search firm is highly preferred

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and R required, Word, SAS, and/or LaTeX preferred

  • Candidate must reside or relocate to Houston, TX
